This charming fair trade monkey is made using scraps of traditional African print fabric and recycled polyester stuffing, by adults with learning difficulties and physical disabilities.
Handmade in Kenya, by the Buguta Disabled Self Help Group. Founded in 2009 this group has gone from strength to strength and there are now 6 members who all work under the watchful eye of the founder member Madam Leah. Sewing these animals gives the woman a steady income in a rural area of Kenya frequently blighted by severe drought.
