These cute hand carved cats make the perfect addition to any feline loving home, their pointy ears also work well as ring holders. Our contemporary soapstone is hand carved in Nairobi from soapstone that is all sustainably sourced in Kenya.
Sustainably mined in Kenya, soapstone is a beautifully tactile metamorphic rock with an appearance similar to marble. The natural variations in the surface are part of its unique beauty. Soapstone is non-porous and heat-resistant, making it great for a wide range of uses.
Our soapstone products are polished and treated with natural beeswax.
All of our contemporary soapstone products are hand carved in Kisii, a small town in the South West of Kenya. Our products are carved by a youth self help group, started in 1996 and has 40 members.
