Easy Ways to Refresh Your Home Decor for Spring

Spring is finally here and we couldn't be happier! From the warmer, longer days to the blooming flowers and greenery, we love everything about this season. And that includes the chance to refresh your interiors with some beautiful spring decor. Refreshing your home doesn't have to be expensive, or involve lots of big projects. Simple swaps and additions can make a room feel entirely different, welcoming in the light, fresh feeling of spring. Here are some of our favourite tips and tricks...

Add some plants to your space
The popular houseplant trend isn't going anywhere! And it's clear why. Welcoming some greenery into your home is sure fire way to brighten your mood and your home. A more sustainable choice that cut flowers, houseplants come in all shapes and sizes, perfect for any space. If you're after something easy to care for we suggest spider plants, snake plants and pothos. We love styling house plants in baskets as the natural texture adds to the fresh feeling that the plants bring. Our Kenyan Baskets are particularly great for popping your houseplants in, just be sure to add a saucer so that the bottom of your basket doesn't get wet. The range of colours and patterns available means there is one to suit every interior style, and they can be a great way to introduce a new colour into a space in a subtle way. Alternatively, our range of Soapstone Plant Pots are great for more minimal, sleek designs and will compliment your houseplants perfectly.

Change up your lighting

Lighting can really set the tone of a room, and creating the right ambience is key to achieving the look that you want. Light-coloured light shades are an obvious choice for spring, but that doesn't mean they have to be boring! The bold, geometric design of our Indian Recycled Paper Light Shade adds interest and texture to a room, whilst also keeping the look light and airy - there's a reason they're our bestseller! Also, candles don't have to be put away for spring. Simply switch out heavier, wintery scents for light, fresh ones like ARTHOUSE Unlimited's Vegan Black Pomegranate Candle. Our Soapstone Candle Holders also make a great addition to a space, brightening up any room perfectly. Plus, they can be enjoyed year round! For spring, why not use them to display some colourful candles in contrasting colours to your decor for a fun burst of colour.

Update your bedding

One of the largest items of furniture many of us own are our beds! They are a huge feature in our bedrooms, so swapping out your bedding is one of the easiest ways to make a big difference with minimal effort. Bright colours and natural textures are sure to make your den feel a whole lot lighter for spring. Whether you choose to change out all your sheets entirely, or opt to just add a new throw, you are bound to love the result. Our Indian Block Printed Quilts are produced in collaboration with a family-owned Indian textile company based in Jaipur, who follow eco friendly and fair trade practices. They are the perfect thickness for warm spring nights, keeping you cool whilst also brightening up your space with beautiful prints designed by our co-founder, Amy. Adding a blanket or throw to your bed in a complimentary colour to your current bedding is also a great way to switch up your decor without making any big commitments. Our favourite for spring is our Tanzanian Hand Woven Throw in Sunshine Yellow - pair it with green for a super fresh, trendy look.

Refresh forgotten spaces

Whether it's a neglected book shelf or an un-styled fireplace, adding some interest to areas of your home that have been overlooked can really help to elevate your space. They are also great places for seasonal decor that you can switch out easily as the seasons change. We have a huge range of decorations to compliment any home. For spring, we're particularly loving our Wooden Hanging Birds Mobiles as they inject a bit of subtle colour and a lot of personality to any room in your house. Each bird is hand carved and hand painted, making every one totally unique. Another easy way to refresh your decor is to swap out any prints or photographs you have displayed to match the current season. Our Mango Wood Monkey Puzzle Frames are the perfect year-round accessory! Their timeless design means they are perfect for all of your favourite photographs and art prints. Why not use them to display some of your favourite holiday snaps or a colourful art print?
